Damon Hankoff is a musician and filmmaker.
He composes music for all kinds of films: documentary, narrative, promotional and experimental.
As a keyboardist and singer, Damon performs with New York singer-songwriter Kim Anderson, the Montreal-based ensemble Flore Laurentienne, and Brahja Waldman’s improvisational liberation orchestra. He performs his own songs under the title Out of Sight of Land.
Through his production company Audio Shmaudio, Damon has produced/directed/edited/scored several major capital campaign films for houses of worship, including St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and St. Paul and St. Andrew United Methodist Church, both on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Damon has scored several narrative shorts, including Eight Count (2023) & The Babble of the Brook (2024).
He is currently pursuing an MFA in Media Scoring at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College.
